Apple is streamlining its products which could hint at another possible casualty in the iPad Air 3. Since the debut of the iPad Pro 9.7 in March, the tablet line of the Cupertino company has so far been mum.
The iPad Air 3 has yet to get an update and the word out right now is that Apple will be unveiling one before 2016 comes to an end. With the Cupertino company believed to be streamlining its product line, the Air range could be a casualty.
The next big thing for Apple is the iPhone 7. A MacBook Pro 2016 is next in line as well as the Apple Watch 2. With those products in the mix, the iPad Air 3 seems to have been forgotten to date.
Regardless, there are some playing on hope of seeing an iPad Air 3 soon. It should be noted that Apple still has the iPad Pro and iPad Mini around, added elements that shroud the future of the iPad Air 3.
Yibada claimed that iPad Air 3’s possible cancellation earlier this month. However there are some who beg to disagree and believe that a successor to the iPad Air 2 will be debuting.
Considering the iPad Air 2 debuted on Oct. 16, 2014, such has led most to wait in October as a possible release date, MacWorld reported. Unfortunately that is speculation until Apple is able to offer some credible hint.
With that in mind, the fate of the iPad Air 3 is somewhat tied up to the future of the MacBook Air 2016. As most have probably read on the grapevine, the notebook variant holds an erratic future as well.
One thing that both the iPad Air 3 and MacBook Air 2016 have in common is that they fall under the Air range of Apple. That said, belief that the line may be phased out has ramped all the more.
With half of 2016 to go, anything can happen. It all starts with the iPhone 7 this September with the following month will be under close watch.
Apple has not officially closed out the Air range, a good sign for budget-conscious buyers. If not this year, there is always 2017 to look forward to.
If no signs of an iPad Air 3 comes by early 2017, then it may be a good time to assume that the variant will no longer be coming out and probably the end of the Apple Air niche.
While that is sorted out, check out the iPad Pro once more via the video below.
