Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) was extremely successful with the prequel "Guardians of the Galaxy" which had opened in cinemas on Aug. 1, 2014 and made $773.3 million in the box-office. While making the sequel, the writer and director James Gunn has been very careful as the expectations are very high. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the actor Pratt and director Gunn have talked candidly about their fears about making the sequel.

"It's a very moving script. Listen, one of the main things with Guardians of the Galaxy is not to add a bunch of characters, not to make it bigger in that way but to go deeper with the characters'' clarified Gunn. He also mentioned to Screen Rant about his expectations from the sequel. On a scale of one to hundred, his excitement is ''72'' when it comes to the script of ''Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.''

Pratt who had played the same role in the prequel is all excited to play the same role of Star-Lord in the sequel. In the vol.1 the viewers had seen that young Peter Quill (played by Chris Pratt) is abducted by a group of alien thieves and smugglers from his hometown Missouri, USA. The story is set in modern times in 1988 and in the sequel, the viewers can hope to see the continuation of his character.

Pratt had lost hopes of playing the lead role in superhero movies after being rejected during the audition of ''Star Trek'' and ''Avatar.'' MCU has signed a multi-film contract with Marvel, and according to The Huffington Post, a promising actor in the making.
