Liverpool striker Danny Ings is returning from injury in 2016-2017 to finally play a full season for new Reds head coach Jürgen Klopp and is said to be eager to learn more from the German mentor.

The 5-foot-10 Englishman suffered an ACL tear during Klopp's first training session with the squad in October of last year and was then ruled out for the rest of the season after playing in six matches and scoring twice for ex-manager Brendan Rodgers.

Ings, who just turned 24 last Saturday, then went through the necessary surgery to repair the damaged knee and patiently allowed himself to heal properly and get rehabilitated during the past nine months.

He was actually able to come back seven months later during the Reds final game last term against West Brom, as per Goal, but he was still not at his 100 percent effectiveness that time.

The new season is coming and the former Burnley forward, now healthy and ready, is said to be eager to show his wares again in the English top flight.

Klopp is allegedly open to giving the Winchester, England native the opportunity to do so, but gradually as the former Borussia Dortmund manager wants to "ease him back" to his "fighting football template".

It would not be a problem for Ings, though, the report said, as he had always been the player who "wants to leave everything he's got on the pitch".

However, Ings also admitted that he has to be patient as he had to always remind himself of how serious his injury was and try not to push himself to the limit all the time.

"Sometimes I'm a lot harder on myself than I should be and I take away the fact that it was such a serious injury and as you say I wanna go 100 mile an hour all the time, I want to learn, I want to improve, I want to impress everyday."

Right now, he is committed to listening to his head coach and following all of his instructions as much as possible.

"I like to think I would adapt to the way that any manager who came in would want to play. But the way this manager plays, it is very tactical," said Ings, via Caught Offside.

"It's not about running into things at 100mph. I'm not saying I do that. It's important that you run sensibly and get into the right positions," he added.
