Lee Young Ae, best known for her historical drama "Jewel in the Palace," is set to return to the small screens with SBS' "Saimdang, the Herstory."
The South Korean actress will be making her TV comeback in the historical drama "Saimdang, the Herstory." SBS has unveiled a new set of posters for the upcoming drama that features Young Ae wearing a traditional Korean dress, Soompi reported. The network released the new posters on Thursday, July 28.
Apart from Young Ae, another poster features the actress' co-star Song Seung Heon. The actor previously starred in dramas such as the 2000 hit "Autumn in My Heart" opposite "Descendants of the Sun" actress Song Hye Kyo. Seung Heon's other drama project includes MBC's "When a Man Loves a Woman," "Dr. Jin" and "My Princess.
Meanwhile, the latest poster stills for "Saimdang, the Herstory" has shown Young Ae and Seung Heon's regal side as they posed in traditional clothes typically worn during the Joseon dynasty, as indicated in the same report. The "Jewel in the Place" star also wore the classic braided headdress while the actor grasped the brim of a dark mesh hat.
The upcoming SBS drama tells the story of the historical figure Shim Saimdang, a painter and calligrapher whose work became influential. Young Ae will portray two roles in the drama namely Saimdang and Seo Ji Yoon, an art professor who discovers the journals written by Saimdang. On the other hand, Seung Heon will play the painter Lee Gyeom who meets Saimdang.
In other news, Seung Heon's entertainment agency has recently denied speculations that the actor broke up with Chinese girlfriend, actress Liu Yifei. The actor's agency made the announcement on Monday, July 25, Kpop Herald reported. Rumors of the two celebrities' split have been circulating online with some netizens commenting that Seung Heon's relationship with Yifei was a marketing ploy.
Both Asian stars participated in the movie "The Third Way of Love" that was released in China in 2015. Yifei and Seung Heon soon became a couple after meeting each other in the said movie project. The actor's agency has also denied speculations that the couple's romantic relationship was faked to promote the film.
"Saimdang, the Herstory" is expected to air in October.
