"Kingsglaive" is the film companion of Square Enix's upcoming game, "Final Fantasy XV." The story runs around the Kingdom of Lucis which defends a magical crystal from taking over the whole empire of Nilfeim.

Kingsglaive pertains to the select royal soldiers who use magic to protect the said kingdom. Lucis, which holds the sacred crystal that is being sought by the Nilfeim Empire was threatened by its military arm. To restore peace in the captital, King Regis then agrees to marry his son, Prince Noctis to Princess Lunafrey in order to save the kingdom, Animation Magazine said.

The series of events will unfold that Nilfeim will not stop in achieving what they want. This then prompts the King to order his kingdom's magic-wielding soldiers, known as the Kingsglaive, to save Lucis from damnation.

Starting Aug. 19, the CG film will be released in select theaters worldwide. After which, a digital download on Blu-Ray and DVD will be available by Aug. 30 and Oc.t 4 respectively, Polygon reported. Aside from "Kingsglaive," a mini anime series is currently running to promote the upcoming "Final Fantasy XV." Entitled "Brotherhood," the series is already on its third episode and the show will continue to run until its fifth and last chapter.

From the events of both "Kingsglaive" and "Brotherhood," "Final Fantasy XV" story line takes off where Noctis sets out from the capital in order to find ways on how he could regain his homeland. The game is slated for release on Sept. 30, 2016. It will focus on examination of the characters' personalities while distinguishing them from the fantasy setting.
