Atlanta rapper Radric Delantic Davis, 36, who is professionally known as Gucci Mane, released his ninth album on July 22. Recently, he talked about imitating "Rap God" rapper Marshall Mathers III, who is professionally known as Eminem.
"I can't imitate Eminem, and they can't imitate Eminem, but they can imitate Gucci," Fader quoted Mane as saying. "Is Eminem good? Yes. Do I recognize he's super talented? Hell, yeah! But do I want to play that when I jump in my Maybach?"
As a rapper, Mane feels proud and flattered that "the kids" embrace him. For him, among the rappers, he is the easiest to imitate.
Mane also talked about the time he spent in prison after pleading guilty to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon on May 13, 2014. He said it was a maximum security prison where there was much violence and people were dying each week.
On the positive side, Mane said life in prison helped him to get to the point he is at now. He explained that it drove him out from the drugs, gave him time to reflect and made many relationships that were toxic in his life just fall away.
On May 26, Mane was released from prison because he was not initially credited for the time he served while waiting for his court date. His original release date was Sept. 20.
On July 22, the rapper released his ninth studio album titled “Everybody Looking.” It features guest appearances from Young Thug, Kanye West and Drake, who performed at Palace of Auburn Hills in Detroit, Michigan, on July 30, Thursday, for his “Views Tour,” Detroit News reported.
“Everybody Looking” is distributed by Atlantic Records and released by Guwop Enterprises. It contains 14 tracks including “All My Children,” “Pop Music” and “First Day Out Tha Feds.”
