Avid fans of the "Final Fantasy" franchise have been clamoring for information on the release date on the much-rumored "Final Fantasy 7 Remake." While Square Enix has remained mum about the forthcoming PS4 title, director Tetsuya Nomura recently teased a big announcement.

Nomura, who is behind both "Kingdom Hearts III" and "Final Fantasy 7 Remake," had an interview with Famitsu translated by KH Insider. During the interview, the director revealed that Square Enix is gearing up for a big announcement to highlight the game in one main event, as opposed to giving small pieces of information in sporadic interviews and trailers.

"We are currently getting specifics ready for the next information release, and just like we've done with KH2.8 this time, we plan to bring a whole lot out in one go instead of dribs and drabs, so please look forward to it," Nomura said. "I am looking forward to the reveals myself."

Therefore, the game developer will likely hold an event soon, probably around Q4 2016 between the launch of "Final Fantasy XV" on Sept. 30 and the release of "Kingdom Hearts 2.8 HD Final Chapter Prologue" by the holiday season. It is rumored that this event might include new trailers for the remake, information on the release date, and possibly a playable demo.

Meanwhile, it seems like the game developer, Square Enix, is not planning to release the upcoming remake on Nintendo NX. The remake's compatibility with Nintendo NX is reportedly missing, according to Game N Guide. Besides the teaser that featured the popular Shinra Corporation bombing mission introduction sequence from Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016, there is no further information about the imminent "Final Fantasy 7" remake.

"Final Fantasy 7" remake will reportedly release in episodes, as homage to the original storyline. Similarly, "Final Fantasy XV" will also exclude Nintendo NX from its platforms of release. Although director Hajime Tabata confirmed this, it does not imply that the likelihood of this happening in future is zero.

'Final Fantasy 7" remake has no definite release date, but "Final Fantasy XV" is scheduled for a launch on Sept. 30. Watch the clip below for more information on the much-anticipated remake.
