In the wee hours of Wednesday, July 27, a huge tree gave up and has fallen onto the road, completely blocking the way in one of the filming locations of the HBO blockbuster hit "Game of Thrones."
This was not the first time a tree has blocked the roadway of the famous tourist attraction. Previously, two Dark Hedge trees also fell in the set during the storm Gertrude last April.
The most recent is a tree blocking the Bregagh road during the morning last Wednesday, which is near Armoy. The north Anthrim road has now been attributed for special projection after a handful of problems have swarmed the location.
The two previous Dark Hedge trees during the storm has been converted into doors. These doors had carvings that depicted some scenes from the TV series, according to Belfast Telegraph. We might just expect the same thing to be done with the huge tree that fell last Wednesday.
The show films in various several locations across Northern Ireland. Back in February, there had been an outrage from fans when one of the roads where the shows are filmed have been painted by mistake with stark white lanes.
These enraged the fans because tourists often visit these locations when they go to Northern Island. The Dark Hedges was one of the most visited sights in the tourist attraction because the country road is bounded by beautifully gnarled beech trees, which is used as the main path to enter Westeros.
These markings did not necessarily affect the TV show because they make use of special effects to alter the pavement, but it did affect travellers who wished to take photos in the place. Fortunately, the government officials took immediate action by stating that the paint job was a huge mistake and sent cleaners to remove and scrub the markings off, according to The Telegraph.
Just recently, the location was said to receive additional protection through new traffic controls because it was at risk from increased traffic due to the number of visitors gradually increasing. These new traffic measures include more parking spaces and banning any vehicle from the road altogether. The video below shows what the location looks like off the set.
