Pokémon GO 0.31.0 was released and now fans have been left distressed since the update resets their game progress, deleting three weeks worth of Pokémon capturing. Pokémon GO fans took to social media in shock after they realized that downloading the update for the game caused the app to reset itself.

Some players have asked for a refund of any money spent on Pokémon GO, while others desperately sought for ways to reverse the update. Gustavo Flores said that he had reached level 20 when his account was reset.

However, some gamers have managed to get their levels back by using an alternative email address to sign in, according to Telegraph UK. One Twitter user said on his account that the problem can be fixed.  All gamers have to do is log out of Google in Safari on iOS and then login again in Pokémon app.

Pokémon GO released on July and it is believed to have approximately 9.5 million daily active users. The game involves finding Pokémon from the game in real life locations.

The update for iOS and Android devices began rolling out to gamers on yesterday, July 31. With the rollout, players were promised a fix of several issues. The latest update as well came with warning like "don't drive" and "do not trespass while playing Pokémon GO."

The warning is apparently due to many reports that have emerged about Pokémon GO players having to be saved when playing the game. In London, UK, three young people were robbed at gunpoint when playing Pokémon GO in a park, according to another report by the same publication. The incident prompted the police to issue a warning about the dangers of displaying expensive mobile phones.

Furthermore, a lifeboat had to be scrambled after two 13-year-old girls reportedly walked into rough sea while trying to capture the virtual Pokémon on July 27. The latest update seems to be a move by Niantic Lab to curb such incidences besides reducing cases on cheating.
