Kell Brook surprised the boxing world when he accepted a showdown with Gennady Golovkin. While some fans are already counting him out, Brook is confident he has the tools to beat Golovkin.

Brook, who owns a perfect 36-0 record, will go up against Golovkin on Sept. 9 at the O2 Arena in London. The British challenger said that he is facing the best fighter in the world, but he has no doubt in mind that he can pull off a shocker against Triple G.

"I want to go down in history like Sugar Ray Robinson as doing massive things in big fights and beating the best," Brook said during a press conference via Fight News. "GGG is the best fighter in the world, and I am going to beat him."

Brook stunned his fans after the news about the bout came out. The Yorkshire native is the reigning International Boxing Federation welterweight champion and has been campaigning as a 147-pounder over the past several years.

Golovkin, on the other hand, has been a dominant force in the 160-pound division. The Kazakh knockout artist, who owns a 35-0 record with 32 stoppage wins, is the reigning World Boxing Council, World Boxing Association, International Boxing Organization and International Boxing Federation middleweight champion.

While Golovkin is the naturally bigger fighter, Brook is quite confident that he can stand toe-to-toe with the Karaganda, Kazakhstan native. Brook said that he is actually feeling more comfortable in his current training camp compared to his past fight preparations.

"I'm very healthy at 160lbs," Brook declared. "I'm hydrated and eating well, nice sized meals that are giving me so much energy and I'm giving more of myself in the gym. I'm getting pushed in the gym and I'm delivering."

On the other hand, Golovkin is aware most fans are expecting another knockout win. However, the 34-year-old champion reiterated that he has no room for complacency, saying that facing Brook will be the biggest test for him to date. There is also so much at stake for him since a loss will hurt his marketability.

"Kell Brook is the biggest test to me," Golovkin said via BoxingScene. "He's a great champion, he's moving up in weight but great fighters have done that and I know he's a great boxer and he will test me the most."
