"Bleach" chapter 685 will be out this Thursday and it is expected that Ichigo and company will be able to slay Yhwach with his Bankai.
Last chapter, Ichigo and the others were able to land a lethal blow against Yhwach. However, the villain was able to cheat death himself thanks to his future altering abilities. As he proclaims that he will no longer be affected by Aizen's abilities, he was shot by Ishida's arrow which temporarily disables his powers.
Early spoilers were leaked courtesy of Manga Sail and it seems like here will be a major time skip happening. Shunsui can be seen drinking in front of his friend, Ukitake's grave. Also, the Soul Society's rebuilding is almost finished with Mayuri overseeing the construction with a new Lolli Girl. Hisagi Shuuhei can now use Bankai while Rukia is now the new leader of the Gotei 13. Lastly, vice-team leader Akon reveals that the machine has detected Yhwach's Reiatsu from 10 years ago.
In "Bleach" chapter 685, fans over at Reddit believe that the arrow Ryuken gave Ishida will be the key to defeating the enemy as it possesses the power to make Yhwach vulnerable for a moment. Fans also reacted on the abrupt battle between the Shinigamis and Yhwach as it took the other Sternritters at least 10 chapters to be defeated. Yhwach, meanwhile, has yet to show the full extent of his godly powers.
Also, Ichigo's much awaited Bankai will finally be unveiled and it will ultimately put an end to Yhwach's life. As Yhwach and Ichigo's battle reach its conclusion, there will be a sudden shift to the future where fans will see new members of the Gotei 13 while some are torn with Ichigo returning to his normal life or becoming the leader of all the Shinigamis. As for Aizen, he may be given a pardon for lending a hand in the battle against The Almighty.
Although there is no clear indication that "Bleach" chapter 685 will be the last, it was stated in the Shonen Jump 36th and 37th issue that the manga will finally reach its climax. Here is a video review of
