Players of the popular mobile gaming app "Pokemon Go" has been experiencing several technical challenges since the game debuted in July. However, the latest bug may have the capability to transform a Pokemon into a different character.

Niantic's hit gaming app "Pokemon Go" has captured the attention of players all over the world. Although gamers have had to deal with connectivity problems and other glitches since it was first launched in the U.S. in July. The latest bug that some players have noticed in the game involves newly caught characters transforming into a different Pokemon.

The new bug was pointed out by Reddit users where some players recounted their gaming experience, Slash Gear reported. Some of the gamers have mentioned that they experienced the said bug in both Android and iOS devices.

It appears that the game may show a specific Pokemon on the screen. However, once a player catches the said Pokemon, the captured creature would turn out to be another Pokemon character. A player has even shared that he was trying to catch a Poliwag but discovered that the creature was actually a Rattata, as stated in the same report.

Although gamers should be wary of the said "Pokemon Go" bug. The game's latest glitch can also lead to some players tracking a high-level Pokemon, only to find out that it is a common character. A gaming tip posted on the same report has advised players to take note of a Pokemon's high CP (Combat Power) on characters such as Weedles and Pidgeys. It is likely that these characters may turn into high-level Pokemons when caught.

Meanwhile, Niantic's decision to remove the three-step footprint tracker from the game has angered many fans. The said featured previously gave players an idea of a Pokemon's location. However, the company has removed the footprint tracker from its latest game update.

The mobile gaming app's rating in both iOS and Android game stores has now been reduced following the said feature's removal, Telegraph reported. Players have rated "Pokemon Go" a two in Apple online stores and one star in Google Play stores.

Niantic has previously mentioned that it has removed the footprint tracker since it was unable to meet the game developer's goal for the product. The company has also described the said feature as confusing. At this time, it is still unclear if Niantic will re-introduce the three-step footprint or add a new Pokemon tracking feature.
