New details and possible spoilers for "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 4 will feature Ghost Rider fighting Phil Coulson and team, as well as a pivotal role for Jemma Simmons in the show.

The plot synopsis for "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 4 will feature Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) back in action as a regular agent of the organization. S.H.I.E.L.D. has been legitimized by the United States Government in occurrence to the Sokiovia accords, with a new director (played Jason O'Mara) incharge and are actively seeking out enhanced humans, namely Inhumans.

Coulson along with Mack McKenzie (Henry Simmons) are assigned to look for new Inhumans and keep an eye out for fomer S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Daisy Johnson/Quake (Chloe Bennet) has now gone rogue from the organization, while Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) is now in-charge of training new strike force teams for S.H.I.E.L.D., Screenrant reported.

As for Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) and Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker), their special relationship has reached another level. However, it will soon become complicated when Simmon's new promotion as a Special Advisor to the Director in Science and Technology, to which creates friction with his relationship with Fitza and the rest of friends from S.H.I.E.L.D., TVLine reported.

Lastly, the synopsis revealed that Phil Coulson and S.H.I.E.L.D. will encounter Robbie Reyes/Ghost Rider (Gabriel Luna) as the Spirit of Vengeance will likely fight them or become their ally, as the world is not ready to face the likes of him.

Robbie Reyes version of Ghost Rider has been heavily teased for "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." as Marvel Studios confirmed his arrival to the show in its fourth season.

Aside from Ghost Rider, Marvel also plans to have more classic Inhuman characters in "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 4 as executive producers Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen talked about how the delayed "Inhumans" movie affects the status of the Marvel TV side.

Whedon stated that thety have a "little" freedom in doing Inhuman characters since the focus of the show has more emphasis on Inhumans and will like to focus more on that in the course of season 4.

Bennet revealed that Daisy will be "out of shape" physically due to her "abusing" her powers in a way to survive and help everyone. She added that Daisy has a darkside to unleash and is still in mourning due to the death of Lincoln Campbell/Sparkplug (Luke Mitchell) in season 3. She pushes his friends away as a means of protecting them because she feels like she is the cause of every problem happening to them.

"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 4 will air on Sept. 20 on ABC.
