Apple Music for Android has finally jumped out of beta with the official 1.0 version launched in the Google Play Store which is now available for the public.

The Cupertino-based tech giant has been beta testing the music streaming app which is set to take on Tidal and the ever popular Spotify app. It has almost the same features as other streaming apps but it has also its own 24/7 Beats One Radio station that pumps out music from partner artists.

In addition to the official version 1 of the streaming app, there are also updates included that adds more features. The Apple Music app for Android includes new equalizer options that would help users to improve their overall listening experience, Apple Insider has learned.

Android users who are on the 4.3 Jellybean version and above can now download the Apple Music app. However, they will need a monthly subscription if they want to access most of the features.

Spotify has taken the top spot because their free version only has a few caveats such as the unskippable advertising monologues and the skip count for the mobile version. Apple Music has failed to topple Spotify and other music streaming apps in the market.

Android users should also be glad to know that their Apple Music version has exclusive features such as playing music offline through downloading the tracks and files for listening later, Android Headlines reported. Whole albums can be downloaded to Android smartphones' microSD card which is not present in most iPhones and iPads.

There are some benefits in opting for an Apple Music subscription. They have exclusive content from artists that are otherwise absent in their competitors.

Recent reviews in the Google Play Store for Apple Music mention a lot of connectivity issues. Apple could be having problems handling all the load of the new users that are downloading the app out of beta.

Apple Music is one good alternative for the many music streaming apps on the Android platform and on Google Play Store. It is certainly free to download but the other features need a subscription in order for them to work.
