A new hottie is going to heat up "Chicago Fire" Season 5. "Grey's Anatomy" doctor Scott Elrod is joining the cast as Travis Brenner, sources confirmed.

Elrod's character is described as a social media celebrity who becomes friends with Taylor Kinney's Severide. "This guy always has a party going on, always has a new adventure to rope in a new friend," "Chicago Fire" EP Derek Haas told Entertainment Weekly. "He's going to cause some mischief over the first three episodes."

According to TV Line, Brenner and Severide meet during a fire call, and the latter become instant friends, with Severide tempted to join Brenner's popular inner circle.

"[Brenner] feels like Severide is a real guy, not the usual hanger-on, entourage type of guy that he's used to hanging out with, so he's attracted to Severide in that way," Haas said about Brenner and Severide's interaction. Having these two heartthrobs together will be feast for female fans of "Chicago Fire."

Elrod will appear on several episode of the NBC drama series.

The 41-year-old actor previously appeared as army doctor William Thrope and Meredith Grey's brief love interest on "Grey's Anatomy." His television credits also include "The Young and the Restless," "NCIS: Los Angeles" and "How to Get Away with Murder."

In the meantime, teaser photos of "Chicago Fire" Season 5 shows a possible Stella-Severide hook up. This pairing is gaining mixed reactions from fans who are still shipping Severide and Bianca, although the latter died in the previous season.

Moreover, Dora Madison will not reprise her role as Chili in "Chicago Fire" Season 5. Madison was promoted to series regular in Season 4, which made her mid-season exit a big shock to fans. However, showrunner Matt Olmstead explained that the move was made to keep fans peeled on the show.

Chili was on a "path of self-destruction" - coming to work late and drunk. Thus, Boden (Eamonn Walker) was justified when he fired her. "It got us some good stuff midway through the season as opposed as to waiting for a finale to have the character exit," Olmstead said about axing her in the middle of Season 5.

"Chicago Fire" Season 5 will premiere on Oct. 11 on NBC.
