Conor McGregor made a lot of wrestlers and wrestling fans unhappy with his recent comments regarding WWE superstars. According to the latest rumors, McGregor talking trash about wrestlers could be a work that will lead to an appearance at WrestleMania 33.

During the UFC 202 pre-fight conference call, McGregor blasted the WWE and its superstars who put their bodies on the line to entertain their loyal fans. It all started when he was asked if he was interested in making an appearance for Vince McMahon's company.

"I haven't really thought about it. For the most part, those WWE guys are (expletive). To be honest, they're messed up (expletive) if you ask me. Fair play to Brock, he got in a fight but at the end of the day he's juiced up to the (expletive) eyeballs so how can I respect that?" McGregor said, as transcribed by FOX Sports.

Of course, those comments have landed the UFC featherweight champion in hot water with not only the WWE superstars but also many wrestling fans. He apologized to the WWE fans via Twitter but continued talking trash to the wrestlers.

Many current and former WWE superstars such as Roman Reigns, Chris Jericho, A.J. Styles, Kurt Angle, Ric Flair, MVP, Sasha Banks, Big E, Rusev, Bill Demott, Baron Corbin, Sheamus, Bubba Ray Dudley and Kofi Kingston responded to McGregor. Flair possibly had the best comeback as he told the Irishman "you're welcome" for copying his gimmick and persona.

According to Ringside News, all of McGregor's antics are a work that could set up an appearance at WrestleMania 33. The WWE let Brock Lesnar fight at UFC 200 and many people believe that the UFC will return the favor by letting McGregor or Ronda Rousey appear at a WWE event.

The report also noted that the "Notorious" unleashing on WWE superstars is a promotional tactic. It got people talking and many wrestling fans will not buy the UFC 202 pay-per-view to see him get beat and Stockton slapped again by Nate Diaz.

It was rumored after McGregor's UFC 200 fight was canceled several months ago that he would be coming to the WWE. However, those rumors were put to rest when he cleared the air with the UFC and his rematch with Diaz was scheduled for UFC 202 on August 20.
