It is not easy to draw "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 spoilers since Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) and Enzo St. John (Michael Malarkey) seem to be different from who they were. Salvatore and St. John fell victims into something that sucked all the goodness out of them. Somerhalder revealed in the recent San Diego Comic-Con that St. John and his character, who were in killing spree in Season 7 will do "some gnarly s-t." However, the duo and Sybil (Nathalie Kelley) may enact towards a conscious goal that generates good.

Highlights of Season 8 include the return of favorite characters to celebrate the series. The crew will bring them back either from a flashback, memory scene or other surprises. They will find a way for viewers to say hello and goodbye to those characters again, executive producer Julie Plec told TVLine in an interview during the latest Comic-Con.

One of those returning characters will be Sarah Salvatore (Tristin Mays). The actress herself teased her comeback via a tweet. Before she left, she had a bond with St. John.

As for an unfinished business in Mystical Falls, it is unclear what Sarah is up to. She is the only living relative of Damon. Whether she is trying to pull him out of the Darkness or not, it is something to anticipate for.

Meanwhile, Matt Donovan (Zach Roerig) told fans during the Comic-Con that his character will "explore humanity," Latin Post reported. As for Bonnie Bennett (Kat Graham) who was crumbled in the finale, she will be at rock bottom at the start of "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8. Viewers will see how she copes up now without her magic.

Actress Allisson Scagliotti will join the crew of Mystic Falls as research intern Georgie. CW's "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 will return as the last season on Oct. 21.
