USA Network surprised fans during the Television Critics Association press tour when they confirmed "Suits," which is currently airing on its sixth season, will be renewed for a 7th installment. The series is also highly possible to be renewed for another term once it finishes the seventh.
It was previously hinted before that the show may be nearing to an end, with at least season 6 which is currently airing now. Lead star Patrick J. Adams also dropped some clues before that the series is finally ending, ChattSportsNet reported. Executive producer Aaron Korsh was also not sure about the series' fate when he was interviewed by the time season 5 was airing.
However, since the news was spilled by the network where "Suits" is aired, fans may celebrate as the show is up for another period. Just this month, Korsh confirmed he just renewed his deal with Universal Cable Productions for two years. The showrunner said it is likely a season 7 will be coming right after the current season, and a season 8 is certainly possible, TV Line reported.
Despite the good news and not knowing when "Suits" finally concludes, Korsh still stands on his belief they are still closer to the end, than they are to the beginning.
Meanwhile, the last episode showed Mike passing out during a football game. It turned out he was drugged by Harvey and Sean in order to execute their plan of sneaking him out of prison for a couple of hours to be with Rachel.
Their reunion reminded Mike how much time he is missing for every second he spends inside the prison. This has convinced him to accept Harvey's offer to spy on Kevin Miller and extract an important information out of his inmate.
The overall outcome of his mission will allow him to be pardoned from jail and continue to fulfill his duties as a PSL lawyer. It will be revealed whether Mike will succeed to get another shot at freedom. More details will be revealed once episode 5, titled "Trust" airs on Aug. 10.
