"Suits," USA Network's long-running legal drama has been renewed for Season 7, the network announced at the Television Critics Association press tour on Wednesday, Aug. 3.

The renewal comes as the series is four episodes into its sixth season, which revolves around Mike Ross' (Patrick J. Adams) life in prison after he agrees to a plea deal confessing that he was a fraudulent lawyer.

While Ross comes to terms with prison life, his friends at Pearson Specter Litt, which include his fiancée Rachel Zane (Meghan Markle), Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht), Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman), Donna Paulsen (Sarah Rafferty) and Jessica Pearson (Gina Torres) fight to keep their law firm alive after the partners' abandonment at the end of season 5.

The Aaron Korsh series, which is USA's longest-running drama, has been a strong performer for the network, averaging 3 million total viewers, out of which 1.1 million viewers belonged to the 18-39 age group and 1.2 million from the 25-54 demographic, when taking into account three days of DVR playback as well, according to Variety.

The renewal will take the series past the 100-episode mark, making it the fifth ever USA scripted series to achieve the milestone. The other shows include "Psych," "Monk," "Royal Pains," and "Burn Notice," Deadline reported.

In addition to "Suits'" renewal, USA also announced premiere dates for two brand new dramas, "Falling Water" and "Eyewitness."

"Falling Water," which stars Lizzie Brocheré, David Ajala and Will Yun Lee, follows the story of three people who find out they're dreaming about different parts of the same dream. The show debuts on Oct. 13 at 10 p.m, according to Entertainment Weekly.

"Eyewitness" is a crime thriller adapted from a Norwegian drama about two teenagers whose lives take a dramatic turn after they witness a shooting and struggle to remain silent. The series, which features Julianne Nicholson, Gil Bellows, Tyler Young, and James Paxton, is slated to premiere on Oct. 16 at 10 p.m.

"Suits" Season 7 is scheduled to hit television screens in 2017. Until then catch the ongoing sixth season every Wednesday at 9 p.m. on USA.
