"The Vampire Diaries" season 8 may introduce Nikki Reed as one of its guest stars in the upcoming episodes.

Just recently, Reed was spotted on the set of the hit The CW series and there are rumors that this wasn't because she was watching over her husband Ian Somerhalder.

Instead, it's possible that Reed will make an appearance in the show especially now that she's no longer involved in "Sleepy Hollow."

Meanwhile, executive producer Julie Plec previously said that the main goal for season 8 is to wrap up all of the loose storylines and unfinished issues in Mystic Falls.

This will be done with the return of some of the characters that were featured in the previous seasons.

Even if this will be the case, Plec also confirmed that a slew of new characters will be involved in the final season of "The Vampire Diaries."

The exec's statement seems to suggest that it's indeed possible that Reed will guest star in the series. However, some Delena fans are not pleased with the idea.

Since there are also some ongoing rumors that Nina Dobrev will return to reprise her role as Elena Gilbert, some fans are worried that Reed's possible involvement in the series may veer Damon's attention away from Elena.

Other fans have grown even more concerned over the fact that Plec previously said that it is not her goal to give fans an ending that will make them happy because they are supporting a particular ship.

Rather, Plec will write an ending that will be fit for the entire series.

In other news, "The Vampire Diaries" cast member Kat Graham told Melty that she wants Dobrev to return to the series especially in the finale.

"I'm the worst person to ask because I know nothing. Obviously Dobrev's return has my vote, and we want the most amazing outcome as a cast and as a crew, and I'm sure the writing staff. And we just are supportive of Dobrev and her journey, and it would be great, obviously," she said.

As of late, Reed and Dobrev's participation in the final season of "The Vampire Diaries" hasn't been confirmed yet.

"The Vampire Diaries" season 8 will premiere on The CW on Oct. 21 at 8 p.m. ET.
