The CW's "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2 will bring Sarah Grey and she will join the Justice Society of America as Stargirl. The show will reportedly give the largest new characters in the upcoming season. With Grey on board, more are yet to come.

Though many may have never heard about Stargirl before, DC has the most instantly recognizable characters in all comics. Her name is Courtney Whitmore and she wears a blue, white and red outfit.

Whitmore uses the magical weapon called Cosmic Staff which gives her offensive and defensive abilities when it comes to flight, energy protection and strength, according to Creators. The heroine also wears the Cosmic Converter Belt which gives her enhanced strength and agility.

Though Stargirl is among DC Universe' vague superheroes, she can still have the spotlight. She starred on "Smallville" where she was played by Britt Irvin. The heroine was also featured in a few episodes of the cartoon "Justice League Unlimited."

Meanwhile, actress Grey was in several television shows like The CW's "iZombie." She will also star as Amanda in the upcoming "Power Rangers" reboot. Her casting as the new member of the Justice Society of America as Stargirl comes with other casting developments. Matthew MacCaull will portray Commander Steel while Maisie Richardson-Sellers will appear as Vixen of Arrowverse, in lieu of Megalyn Echikunwoke.

Grey's character will serve alongside Hourman (Patrick J. Adams), Dr. Mid-Nite and Obsidian. Hourman was in The CW series Season 1 finale, while the key roles of Mid-Nite and Obsidian have yet to be cast.

During last month's San Diego Comic-Con, the "Legends" panel disclosed that the Justice Society of America chooses the heroes' side of the equation while Legion of Doom takes the opposite side, IGN reported. The latter will feature familiar enemies in "Arrow" and "The Flash," such as Malcolm Merlyn (played by John Barrowman), Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), Reverse Flash (Matt Letscher) and Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller).

The Justice of America has a major part in the time-travel action series' second season. The CW will air "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2 on Oct. 13 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
