Pirates are now rejoicing as Denuvo is starting to be defeated with Rise of the Tomb Raider being the first fully cracked game after briefly allowing players to also play Doom 2016 and more.
Several torrents of Doom, Just Cause 3, Inside, Total War: Warhammer and Homefront: The Revolution have started to pop up in The Pirate Bay (TPB), Extra Torrents and several Kickass Torrents (KAT) mirrors. It would seem that Denuvo has finally been cracked after several months of hackers trying to defeat the protection.
Unfortunately, Denuvo has quickly patched all of the bypass methods that were developed except for one. Bulgarian hacker Voksi managed to exploit the Doom Demo Denuvo activation to bypass the DRM protection on the games before it was patched again, TorrentFreak has learned.
Voksi confirmed that there were over 650,000 pirates who already used his bypass process when it was first launched. However, Denuvo patched the exploit making it useless and abruptly killing off the enjoyment of pirates who were already playing the said games.
Denuvo disabled the activations from their Doom demo software which led to the bypass method a dead end. Still, there was another hacking group who managed to completely crack one Denuvo game.
Square Enix's Rise of the Tomb Raider game is now fully cracked and available at TPB, Extra Torrent and other KAT mirrors and alternatives. Scene group CONSPIR4CY (CPY) was able to release a fully cracked version of Rise of the Tomb Raider on the torrent sites such as The Pirate Bay and Extra Torrent, Ars Technica reported.
Pirates can now download Rise of the Tomb Raider cracked on the many torrent sites without having to worry about Denuvo activations. Doom and the other games, however, are still left hanging but people are optimistic that they will also be cracked soon.
The fact that Rise of the Tomb Raider has been cracked means that Denuvo is not the end of video game piracy. Pirates know that the Doom, Homefront and Total Warhammer cracks will surface soon in a matter of weeks or just a few months at the latest.
