The WWE held its first draft last month since 2011 as they officially usher in the brand extension and the "New Era." According to the latest rumors, the company is unhappy with the current roster and trades like Kevin Owens for Randy Orton may happen after SummerSlam.

Many fans were baffled by several picks made by Monday Night Raw and SmackDown live because it was very obvious that the WWE is favoring the red brand. Even though the blue brand drafted WWE champ Dean Ambrose, A.J. Styles, Bray Wyatt and John Cena, it felt like their roster still needs more star power.

According to Cageside Seats, the WWE creative team is looking to reshuffle the rosters of both brands. A couple of names thrown around are Owens and Orton, who could be both changing brands. Owens is currently on Raw while Orton is on SmackDown.

However, the WWE might wait until after SummerSlam to pull it off as the card for the event is close to completion. It is also expected that Raw will re-debut the Cruiserweight division after SummerSlam while SmackDown introduces their own Women's and Tag Team championships.

But how can the WWE pull off these changes? One possible answer is by trading just like in other sports leagues such as the NBA, NFL, NHL and MLB. The sports entertainment company already has their version of a developmental system (NXT), Super Bowl (WrestleMania) and the draft, so why not introduce a trade deadline.

According to The Inquisitr, trading Owens and Orton is not a bad idea but it will not benefit both brands. The Prizefighter is still considered an up and coming prospect while The Viper is already a legend and one-on-one trade will look unbalanced.

It is suggested that Raw could trade Owens, Cesaro and Darren Young to SmackDown in exchange for Orton and Alberto Del Rio. Of course, these are just rumors but having both Owens and Cesaro will boost the roster's star power.

Both former indie stars path to the mountain will be easier on SmackDown and it will keep the IWC happy. Young, on the other hand, can become a good midcarder as long as he is booked by the creative team properly.

Finally, Del Rio moving to Raw will make him happy because he is going to be reunited with his real-life girlfriend, Paige. It might prevent him from leaving later this year and help put over younger talents of the "New Era," along with Orton.
