New Sunderland head coach David Moyes reportedly wants a reunion with his former Manchester United player Adnan Januzaj at the Stadium of Light this summer and the ex-Red Devils manager is planning to raid the Old Trafford club to do so, according to reports.

The 53-year-old Scottish mentor was United's head coach during the 2013-2014 season when Januzaj was given an opportunity to have more playing time with the squad's first team. Moyes featured Januzaj in 27 English top flight games that term with the 6-foot Brussels, Belgium native scoring four goals, his career-high so far.

Since Moyes was replaced by Dutch manager Louis van Gaal in the summer of 2014, Januzaj was given less and less chances to play in the first team.

He appeared in only 18 games in 2014-2015 and had zero goal in the process while playing in only five games for van Gaal last season after being called back from his loan spell at Borussia Dortmund in the beginning of the term.

Since it was all downhill for 21-year-old Belgium international from the time Moyes left the club, Januzaj is rumored to be also keen on reuniting with his former boss with the Black Cats next season.

However, the reunion will only be a temporary one as Caught Offside reported that Moyes only wants a loan deal to save on cash.

Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho reportedly advised Januzaj to find himself a new squad this summer because he had become a surplus to the Portuguese manager's plans at the Old Trafford next term, and so the striker wants his move to Sunderland to be permanent.

It is not yet clear how the two clubs will come up with a compromise for Januzaj's request of a permanent transfer, although Moyes looked firm of not spending too much in this window.

Meanwhile, the Daily Express noted that aside from Januzaj, Moyes is also set to make a bid for United's defender Paddy McNair "for a fee that could reach £5m" and reserve player Donald Love for £500,000.

McNair and Love were briefly featured by van Gaal last season. But now with Mourinho, speculations abound that the Special One is ready to "wield the axe" on the unknown duo.
