The latest details for "Overwatch" will feature fixes on "Competitive Mode", "Lucioball" and game maps on the August patch and Bastion will be featured in an upcoming animated short.
Blizzard Entertainment launched a new patch update for "Overwatch" this month for the PC as the new patch will fix several in-game issues such as maps, "Competitive Mode" and "Lucio ball". Ever since the release of the "Summer Games" event on"Overwatch" several players were able to play a new game mode called "Lucio ball", which is a three-on-three soccer style game mode as players can control only Lucio.
However, several gamers were able to play as different "Overwatch" characters in "Lucioball" hinting an in-game bug in the game mode. Luckily the new patch update was able to remedy the glitch in the game. Blizzard had previously issued a warning to players who exploited the glitch, after unsuccessfully trying to fix it over the weekend.
Aside from the Lucio ball glitch, the August patch will also fix several game issues on certain maps such as Temple of Anubis, Nepal and Estádio das Rãs. The bug fix on the Estádio das Rãs will allow gamers to spawn as other heroes other than Lucio, while the Nepa stage has fixed an issue which allowed players to get stuck outside the normal boundaries of the map and the Temple of Anubis fixed the bug causing a portion of the city wall to display incorrectly on all graphics settings.
Lastly, the patch update fixes the bugs present in "Competitive Mode" such as a bug that prevented user interface elements from displaying in some languages and a bug that causes the placement matches screen to display when some players would disconnect and rejoin a match.
Other general fixes include an incomplete character models to load on the Hero Selection screen and bugs that causes in-game crashes and instability issues, Express UK reported.
In other news, Blizzard announced a new "Overwatch" animated short during the Gamescom 2016 event on Aug. 18-21 as the new animated film will focus on the robotic omnic soldier Bastion.
The title of the animated short is called "The Last Bastion" and it will feature Bastion waking up in the middle of huge forest after a decade of diactivation. The sudden activation of Bastion left the it wondering in nature and it is fascimated by its beauty and nature, however, its core combat programming may have a different directive, Polygon reported.
Past "Overwatch" animated shorts featured characters like Reaper, Winston, Tracer, Widowmaker, Hanzo, Genji and Soldier: 76. The animated short will premiere Aug. 18 at 9 a.m. PT
"Overwatch" is currently available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
