However, other details about Jungshin's role was not disclosed. The musician will star alongside "The Bridal Mask" actor Joo Won, who will portray the upcoming drama's male lead character.

Avid movie fans may recall that the original film version featured "2 Days 1 Night" cast member Cha Tae Hyun and "You Who Came from the Stars" actress Jun Ji Hyun. The story revolves around the lives of Cha and Jun's characters and the romance that bloomed between the two protagonists. Despite the challenges, heartache, separation and the humiliating yet funny situations between the couple, the two characters still managed to find their way back into each other's arms.

The film's popularity has turned it into one of the well-loved romantic comedy movies in South Korea, as well as in other countries. More than ten years since the film debuted, a sequel to the said movie was released in South Korea in 2015. However, it did not reach the same level of success as the first film.

Meanwhile, casting activities for the female lead in the upcoming drama remake are still ongoing. Kim Joo Hyun was initially identified to play the female lead character. However, she dropped the drama project in early August, Soompi reported. Previous reports have indicated that On Yeon Seo has been considered to replace Kim. Although the actress' participation in the drama has yet to be confirmed.

On the other hand, filming activities for the "My Sassy Girl" drama remake are expected to start in September. It has also been slated for release in 2017.
