In 2010, the first ever advertisement for the iPad was shown during the 81st Oscar Awards. It only seems fitting, therefore, that Apple returned year after year to the awards ceremony to show a commercial featuring the latest version of the device.

In the 2015 Oscars, Apple returned to showcase how people can use the sleeker and even more powerful iPad Air 2 to create their own cinematic masterpieces.

The new ad, which launched Feb 22, Sunday, doesn't expressly mention the iPad Air or even talk about apps used in filmmaking and editing. Instead, the ad chose to tell the true story of a group of L.A. County High School Students who set out to make a movie using an iPad.

With a background of the song "Our Hearts of Gold", Academy Award-Winning Director Martin Scorsese then talks about passion, dedication and creativity in general.

"You can't do your work according to the people's values," The "Boardwalk Empire" director advices in the ad. He then goes on to say that "It's important and imperative to always be awake to your feelings, your possibilities, your ambitions."

Another memorable quote from the ad is, "for your work, for your passions, every day is a rededication." Scorsese also mentions that, "Every step is a first step, every brush stroke is a test, every scene is a lesson, every shot is a school." The director then ends the voiceover with "So, let the learning continue."

What the ad did not mention, but was reported by Mashable, is that the entire ad was shot using the iPad Air 2.
