Aerodactyl is one of the most difficult Pokemon to catch. Among the rock type Pokemons, it has one of the highest base attacks in the game.

Kabutops is another rock type Pokemon that is hard to capture, IGN reported. In the game, it has one of the greatest defense rate among the rock type Pokemons. Reports suggest that players can find these types of creatures in rocky areas such as quarries and farmlands.

Also, gamers can hatch Kabutops from a 10 km egg if they do not capture it in the wild. The Pokemon can be found on parking lots, hiking trails and nature reserve. On the other hand, Aerodactyl does not have evolution stages; however, players can hatch the rare Pokemon in 10 km eggs.

If gamers want to have Flareon, Jolteon and Vaporeon, they have to evolve Eevee. Pinsir is one of the rarest among the beetle type Pokemons in the game. The Pokemon has decent attack power and a high base defense. Gamers can find Pinsir in golf courses, parks and farmlands. Also, they can hatch this Pokemon from 10 km eggs.

Meanwhile, gamers that reach higher XP levels will find that particular Pokemon require more coaxing than other Pokemon and more so than normal. According to various reports, the game will find 15 creatures specifically hard to capture and gamers will require to prepare for their low base capture rate.

A few rare Pokemon are captured easily and therefore have a high catch rate - they do not appear as often. Gamers may find that some common Pokemon become difficult to capture and this gets more difficult as they go up in XP level.

When trying to catch a creature that has low catch rate, the game takes into consideration Pokemon health and Poke Ball strength.

According to The Silph Road, Gengar, Dragonair, Gyarados, Arcanine, Ninetales, Clefable, Raichu, Wartortle, Charmeleon and Ivysaur have an 8% catch rate in the game. On the other hand, Dragonite, Blastoise, Charizard and Venusaur have an even lower catch rate.
