According to a sneak peakuploaded in E! News, one of the doctors, Dr. Travis Stork, said that it's ironic that the culprit of being obese is what one eats. He pointed out that when they looked into the foods in the fridge of Shannon, they did not see anything that could improve the inflammation of Alana's body and decrease her weight.

Another doctor, Dr. Jennifer Ashton, said a more straightforward statement as she noted that Alana is a nine-year-old obese girl. The show then though of a solution regarding this issue called the "Health Intervention" where the two doctors will create healthier alternatives such as tasty drinks and desserts but are less damaging to the health of Alana.

Alana was reportedly brought in the set according to Daily Mail Online and she liked what the doctors have come up with such as a healthier variation of fried chicken. The chicken was made with rolled outs and wheat flour. Other foods suggested by the doctors is a fruit smoothie instead of a shake, a pizza with a cauliflower crust and chocolate mousse made with avocado and dark chocolate.

This is not the first time that the health of the family was targeted as it showed in their reality TV show before that they have poor diet and lacked exercise. If their bad diet habits continue, Alana is at risk of dying at a young age due to diabetes, stroke and other related diseases.

Alana weighs around 125 pounds and at her age, she only should weigh around 60 pounds. Alans is now placed on an age-appropriate diet and she will be guided by a local nutritionist.
