After an eternity of speculation, Warner Bros. has officially confirmed that Lady Gaga will star alongside Bradley Cooper in an upcoming remake of "A Star Is Born."

Cooper will not only be involved in an actor's capacity but will also be making his directorial debut with the film, according to Deadline.

However, this is not the first time Gaga will be appearing on the big screen. The "American Horror Story" actress has previously featured in films like "Machete Kills" and "Sin City: A Dame to Die For."

The actress/singer took to Twitter on Tuesday (Aug. 16) to express her excitement over the forthcoming project.

In addition to starring in the film, Gaga will also be in charge of writing and performing music for the project, which has been written by Will Fetters and produced by Billy Gerber and Jon Peters along with Cooper, Rodd Phillips and Basil Iwanyk.

"For those of us lucky enough to watch him work as an actor and producer, it has been clear that Bradley would make this transition to director," Warner Bros. President Greg Silverman said. "The world is in for a treat as these great artists craft an all new vision of A Star Is Born."

Cooper's "A Star Is Born" is a re-imagination of the 1976 film with the same name, in which Barbra Streisand played the role of an aspiring musician who falls in love with a movie star (Kris Kristofferson) only to find her career taking off while his starts fading away.

The film itself was a re-telling of the 1954 "A Star Is Born," which starred James Mason and Judy Garland in the lead roles, which was inspired by the original 1937 film featuring Janet Gaynor and Fredric March, according to Entertainment Tonight.

In 2011, a different "A Star Is Born" remake starring Beyoncé was in the works and some of the names associated with the project included Leonardo DiCaprio, Will Smith and Clint Eastwood (as director). However, the film never saw the light of day due to scheduling conflicts.
