Andy Murray will attempt to extend his winning streak when he meets Canada's Milos Raonic in the semifinal round of the Western & Southern Open on Friday at the Lindner Tennis Family Center in Mason, Ohio.

After winning his 600th ATP Tour match on Thursday, Murray secured a victory over Australian Bernard Tomic 6-4 6-4 to move into the semifinal round of the Cincinnati Masters. The world No. 2, who needed treatment early in the first set for a lower back issue, looked a little-heavy legged at times, but still managed as straight sets win.

Murray admitted he is going to be tired coming off a successful stint at the 2016 Rio Olympics, where he won a second-consecutive Gold Medal in the singles competition. But the Scot is still positive about his chances of winning his third Cincinnati Masters title.

"I knew that coming straight from the Olympics I was going to be tired. But I've still managed to win," Murray said, reports Sky Sports.

"Conditions help a bit. There are not a lot of long rallies. I have a few days off when this week is done and then I'll prepare for the US Open."

Murray booked a semifinal clash against Raonic, who defeated Dominic Thiem in straight sets 6-3 6-4. Raonic, who ranked No. 6 in the world, needed only a single break of serve in each set to break Thiem at 3-2 and 3-3 in the first and second set, respectively.

"I've practiced with him many times, so to some extent I have an understanding of his game, like he has of mine," Raonic said, reports ATP's official website.

"But it's different come match time, so I did a little bit of studying. I feel like I took that all in and adapted well. I've definitely watched plenty of his matches, especially throughout this year, because he's been playing well. He's been there in the latter stages of each and every tournament."

Murray leads Raonic by 7-3 in their FedEx ATP Head2Head singles matchup, having all six of their last meetings, including a title-clinching victory for Murray at Wimbledon in July.

The winner between Murray and Raonic could face either Grigor Dimitrov or Marin Cilic in the final round of the tournament.
