Undefeated squads SS Lazio (1-0-0, 3 points) and Juventus FC (1-0-0, 3 points) are set to square off at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome this Saturday, August 27 as the 2016-2017 Serie A season enters Week 2 of matches.

Lazio, who was last term's eighth place finisher, opened their season with a high-scoring 4-3 victory over lowly team Atalanta BC on the road at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia on Sunday, SkySports indicated.

Italian striker Ciro Immobile broke the deadlock early at the 15th minute while defender Wesley Hoedt and forward Cristiano Lombardi scored a goal each at the 20th and 33rd to give head coach Simone Inzaghi's side a 3-0 lead at the halftime interval.

The game looked headed to a decisive result, but Atalanta midfielder Franck Kessie netted two straight goals at the 63rd and 67th to cut the lead to 3-2 and give the hosts a chance to pull off a comeback against the capital city squad.

Substitute midfielder Danilo Cataldi then made it 4-2 one minute before full time to virtually seal the game even as La Dea forward Andrea Petagna added another one in stoppage time for the final score.

Meanwhile, reigning Italian champions Juventus kicked off their title defense with a 2-1 nipping of contending squad ACF Fiorentina at the Juventus Stadium in Turin last Saturday, as per Goal.

Juve's German midfielder Sami Khedira drew first blood in the match at the 37th minute to give the Old Lady a 1-0 lead at the break.

The Viola managed to find an equalizer at the 70th courtesy of Croatian forward Nikola Kalinic's header from the center of the box, but it was £75.3 million-signing Gonzalo Higuaín who had the last say as he netted the winning goal at the 75th to give the defending champs their first three points in the season.

Higuaín came off the bench at the 66th replacing Croatian striker Mario Mandzukic in the front two of head coach Massimiliano Allegri's 3-5-2 formation.

The predicted result is a 2-0 romp for Juventus.
