After a hundred year war against the Titan, Erin, Mikasa, Armin, Levi and the remainder of the Survey Corps are in the cusp of unlocking the true nature of the titan and the mystery of the world. The answers are waiting for them below the basement of Dr. Yeager.

Chapter 85 prediction:

After treating fans with furious battles that spanned from chapter 75 to 84,  the next chapter of Shingeki no Kyojin will likely take a pause from the action and focus on their primary object of the mission.

Yes, chapter 85 will be about the search for Yeager's residence in the ruins of Shiganshina. After years of waiting, fans of the manga series are few pages away from learning everything in SNK universe.

The titan's origin, the Reiss monarchy and the history of the world itself are expected to be revealed in the upcoming chapters.

As for Eren, getting into the basement will answer questions not only about his father, but himself as well. In his first ever confrontation with Eren in Chapter 83, Zeke told the young Yeager that they are both the same, victims of Dr. Grisha Yeager.

Meanwhile, it's unknown what will be the fate of Erwin and Sasha Blouse, who was also badly injured in their battle with the Colossal Titan.

If you remember, Sasha's character was supposed to be killed as early as chapter 36, but the editor reportedly begged to keep his favorite character alive. It's interesting how things have changed since then. One thing is for sure, Sasha is still fighting to live.
