The upcoming September 2016 Update for Supercell's Clash of Clans will reportedly bring radical changes aimed to better compete with the hugely popular Pokémon GO but prior to that major CoC bump tweaks will soon be made for a more balanced gameplay.

Touch Arcade reported that Supercell will soon deploy a CoC patch in preparation for the rumored giant leap that will happen in September. Likely touching down this August are described by the report as balance changes - not too many edits but "can make a big difference in a game like Clash of Clans."

To increase the defensive capabilities specifically of mid-size units, the upcoming patch will give the Cannon more firepower, which Touch Arcade said will apply from Levels 11 through 14. And for the same purpose of expanding a player's defensive tactics "Healers will once again trigger air traps because recently they've become a staple high-level troop that can at the same time stay out of defensive range."

Supercell will also reduce the damaging power of the Miner as the game creator acknowledged that its incredible maneuvering speed plus the ability to attack coming from below the ground make the Miner too formidable. This notable revision is again aimed for a balanced gameplay.

The August patch will also allow for better combat flexibility as attacking players will be able to send out more troops before the Eagle Artillery will be given the green light to fire. It is hoped too that with this specific adjustment, the game will more of the so-called "phase-based attacks."

Obviously, Supercell is enhancing the in-place offense and defense mechanisms of the game, all in the name of establishing a gameplay that appeals to all types of CoC players.

Now the feature bumps mentioned above are the confirmed changes to come but rumors are circulating as well that there will be drastic changes to come, purportedly for the Clash of Clans to match the immense popularity presently enjoyed by Niantic's Pokémon GO.

According to Game 'N' Guide, apart from the speculations that a more powerful CoC Hero will be introduced to the game soon. Supercell developers will permit some form of quick boosting when the September Update is applied. The boost will level the playing field and benefit mostly gamers still starting out or unable to advance beyond Level 10.

Additionally, the new Hero can be used during offensive and defensive maneuvers, which the report said will prove significant in redefining the Clash of Clans landscape while at the same time will allow the Supercell game title to keep with the surges registered by Pokémon GO.
