The MacBook Pro 2016 when unboxed will not only impress with cosmetics and hardware revisions but thanks to MacOS Sierra, the next-generation Apple ultraportable will come with superfast I/O technology. The device is confirmed with USB 3.1 Gen2 ports with full Thunderbolt 3 support, a new report said.
A deep dig performed by 9to5Mac on MacOS Sierra, which Apple confirmed will run the next-generation Macs that include the MacBook Pro, revealed code string that contain super_speed_plus. The code pointed to input and output speed for "10Gbps USB 3.1 Gen 2 in upcoming Mac hardware," the report said.
"USB 3.1 Gen 2 affords faster maximum theoretical speeds of 10Gbps - double that of Gen 1. It's marketed as SuperSpeed+ USB on logos, and SuperSpeed USB 10Gbps in written form," 9to5Mac said.
The unearthed MacOS code is the most solid evidence so far that Apple will include USB-C ports that fully support Thunderbolt 3 with the upcoming Mac. Possibly, the upgrade will apply across the board on the high-end Mac desktops and laptops, and the latter will certainly include the hotly-anticipated MacBook Pro 2016.
Picking up the news, Apple Insider confirmed that "support would likely come through Thunderbolt 3, which is not only cross-compatible with Gen 2 but offers native speeds up to 40 gigabits per second, and DisplayPort 1.2 connectivity."
And the benefits for users are immense such as adding of multiple 4K monitors, high-speed backing up of files to external drives, quick charging and the likelihood of connecting an external graphics card to the laptop.
The latter, however, is likely no longer required for would-be buyers of the MacBook Pro 2016 premium model as rumors insist that they will be packed with AMD's monster Polaris 11 GPU. The upgrade will render the new MacBook Pros not only as top-notch productivity but also gaming machines.
Speculations are also rife that the device will be delivered with Touch ID unlocking embedded with the power button, OLED touch bar that will replace the physical function keys and the smart feature Siri for Mac that is integrated with MacOS.
Rumored to fire up the MacBook Pro 2016 on release date is Intel Kaby Lake that according to analysts is the chief reason Apple delayed the product launch to October or November this year.
