"He recently broke up with Gong Hyun Joo," said Daydream Entertainment. "They have decided to remain colleagues who support each other. We do not know the details regarding the reason since it is a problem between a man and a woman."

Lee and Gong opened up to the world about their relationship in August 2013 and co-starred in SBS's "The Law of Jungle - Samoa" from Nov. 6, 2015 to Jan. 1, 2016, All Kpop reported. It is said that their romance began when the latter helped the former with his Chinese debut through the film, "Former Raiders."

Many fans are reportedly upset that the pair has broken up, as they were anticipating Lee and Gong to walk down the aisle in the following years. Neither star has commented on the split report.

Lee, who is best known for starring in the 2011 sitcom "I Live in Cheongdam-Dong," recently made a special cameo in SBS's "Doctors" episode 15. He will be appearing next in JTBC's upcoming drama, "My Wife's Having an Affair this Week."

The drama, which also stars Lee Sun-Kyun, Song Ji-Hyo, BoA, Kim Hee-Won and Ye Ji-Won, follows a TV program director, Do Hyun-Woo, who learns that his wife is having an affair. It is a Korean remake of Fuji TV's 2007 drama series, "Konshu Tsuma ga Uwaki Shimasu."

Gong, on the other hand, is currently reviewing her next project after starring as Han Ji-Hyun in JTBC's "Falling For Innocence." The 16-episode drama, which aired on April 3 to May 23, 2015, starred Jung Kyung-Ho, Kim So-Yeon, Yoon Hyun-Min and Jin Goo.
