Casting activities are currently underway for the movie adaptation of the webtoon turned drama series "Cheese in the Trap." Cast member Park Hae Jin has recently revealed that a famous Korean actress has signed up to play the upcoming film's female lead.

Park announced the latest "Cheese in the Trap" casting news during a press event held on Sunday, Aug. 28, Soompi reported. He stated that On Yeon Seo is set to portray the character Hong Seol in the upcoming movie. The actor also shared his excitement over On's casting.

He told the reporters during the said press conference that he was happy that the movie's showrunners and production team have found an actress who can play the role well. Park also made mention of his former co-star Kim Go Eun in the film's TV series version. He complimented Kim for doing a "great job" in playing Hong Seol in the said tvN drama.

Park also commented that he is looking forward to working with On in the upcoming movie. The actor even shared his curiosity on how his new movie co-star would inject her own flair to the character Hong Seol. He stated that the actress may be able to create a different version of the said character versus Kim's Hong Seol in the TV series.

Apart from casting updates, the actor also revealed the target filming schedule for the upcoming movie. He shared that they are looking to start filming activities towards the end of February 2017. However, the movie's director has yet to be identified.  

Meanwhile, Park also gave a candid interview with Maeil Business Newspaper, where he shared his thoughts about revisiting his character Yoo Jung in the upcoming "Cheese in the Trap" movie, allkpop reported. He made mention of his "lingering feelings" toward the said character that made him accept the offer to play the role again.

The actor stated that he made the decision despite apprehensions that he may get type-casted in portraying the said character. He also remained optimistic about the movie project, as well as the inclusion of talented Korean stars who will join the film.

The "Cheese in the Trap" movie is expected to be released in 2017.
