"Doctors" actor Yoon Kyun-Sang thinks rumors about his brewing romance with co-star Lee Sung-Kyung are petty. In a recent interview, the 29-year-old actor has slammed those dating rumors.

"I was aware [of the rumor]," The Kpop Herald quoted Yoon as saying during an interview with local reporters at a café in Itaewon, Seoul, South Korea, on Aug. 29, Monday. "I do not really care about the rumor much because it is not true."

Yoon said that those dating rumors came out because he and Lee seemed to be so close nowadays. On top of that, Yoon and Lee's on-screen chemistry in SBS's "Doctors" was undeniably good.

In the 20-episode medical drama series, Yoon portrayed Jung Yoon-Do, a neurosurgeon from a wealthy family. He finds himself attracted to Yoo Hye-Jung (Park Shin Hye) and turns a blind eye to Jin Seo-woo (Lee), who is profoundly enamored with him.

Yoon, who first drew attention playing a supporting role in 2014's "Pinocchio," complimented Lee's acting skills. He said that the "Cheese in the Trap" actress apparently puts a lot of contemplation into her works and characters before portraying it.

According to Yoon, Lee has a bright personality and likes to hang out with people. This personality apparently earned the actress a nickname "Beagle."

"She's an actress who is alive and does not doll herself up," Yoon added. "Unlike her normal beagle-like image, she had many thoughts and concerns about the production. We acted while sharing a lot of discussions."

Helmed by Oh Choong-Hwan, "Doctors" aired its final episode on Aug. 23 with a national viewership rating of 22.0 percent. Other stars include Ji Soo, Kim Young-Ae, Jung Hae-Kyun, Park Ji-A, Han Bo-Bae, Moon Ji-In, Lee Ho-Jae, You Da-In, Eom Hyo-Seop and Baek Sung-Hyun.

In other news, Lee will star next in MBC's upcoming drama, "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo," alongside actor Nam Joo-Hyuk, according to Drama Beans. She will play the 20-year-old female weightlifter, Kim Bok-Joo, who falls in love for the first time.

It will be directed by program director Oh Hyun-Jong based on the script penned by Yang Hee-Seung. It will premiere on MBC in November.
