The KBS drama "Moonlight Drawn by Clouds," also known as "Love in the Moonlight," has caught the attention of many viewers. The said drama's episode that aired on Monday, Aug. 29, has garnered a nationwide viewership share of 16 percent, according to Korea Portal. The rating for the said episode is double than the drama's previous viewership share of 8.5 percent.

Park's new historical drama took over the number one spot previously held by the SBS series "Doctors." The said romance medical series has reigned over the Monday-Tuesday evening drama timeslot for most of July and August. However, "Doctors" has closed its final chapter during the week of Aug. 22.

On the other hand, the MBC drama "Monster" came in at second place with a viewership rating of 10 percent, as indicated in the same report. "Scarlet Heart Ryeo," the series that replaced "Doctors" marked its two-episode premiere with nationwide ratings of 7.4 percent and 9.3 percent for episodes 1 and 2, respectively.

At this point, it is still unclear if Park's drama will be able to retain its top spot. Many viewers have also been looking forward to Lee's new historical series. The SBS drama boasts a star-studded cast such as the singer IU, EXO's Baekhyun, Kang Ha Neul, Hong Jong Hyun, Nam Joo Hyuk and more.

Meanwhile, Park has hinted of holding a special fan event should the KBS drama reach a specific viewership rating. The actor made the announcement during an appearance at the Korean show Entertainment Weekly that aired on Saturday, Aug. 27, Soompi reported. He promised to hold a free fan signing event should the drama's ratings exceed 20 percent.

He added that the event will be held at Seoul's Gwanghwamun. Park also commented that he and his fellow cast members will attend the promised fan signing event wearing a hanbok, Korea's traditional attire.
