Principal photography is about to begin on 'Descendants of the Sun' writer Kim Eun Sok's next drama, "Goblin." The upcoming fantasy drama star "Train To Busan" actor Gong Yoo and "Cheese in the Trap" actress Kim Go-Eun.

Though little information has yet to be released, the upcoming tvN drama plans to enter the production on Sept. 02, according to local news outlet OSEN, as cited by All Kpop. The test filming session will include several scenes starring the main actors, while the filming will officially begin in mid-September in Canada.

tvN's "Goblin" follows an amnesiac grim reaper and a dokkaebi (goblin), Kim Shin (Gong), who needs a human bride to end his immortal life. Together, they see off those who have passed away and are now leaving the world.

"We have been preparing to make this drama for three years," producer Yoon Ha-Rim of Hwa and Dam Pictures said in a statement obtained by Soompi. "The focus of the drama will be on goblins, which is a very common character in traditional folktales, but has not been the main topic for dramas yet."

Producer Yoon is confident that the upcoming fantasy series will be another kind of drama for the viewers locally and internationally. He added that they have been preparing for the said drama, even before the "Descendants of the Sun," which starred Song Joong-Ki and Song Hye-Kyo.

Apart from the aforementioned characters, "My Girl" actor Lee Dong Wook, BTOB's Yook Sungjae and actress Yoo In-Na has also been cast. In the drama, the "Queen In-Hyun's Man" actress will play an alluring woman, Kim Sun, who compensates for her lack of financial means with her beautiful appearance. She changes after she meets Wang Yeo (Lee).

"The Village: Achiara's Secret" star will play Yoo Duk-Hwa, a third generation chaebol (conglomerate) heir. His character is defiant, but he lives a different life through his uncle Kim Shin.

tvN's "Goblin" is slated to premiere in late November. Check out the news preview below for more information:
