John Travolta has found a fondness with a colleague in the entertainment business. That colleague is none other than Idina Menzel. The Travolta and Menzel face touching at the 2015 Oscar awards on Feb. 22, Sunday, was done on purpose, Los Angeles Times has learned.
Travolta's official representative revealed to People magazine that the actor planned on showing a token of fondness on Idina ahead of time. The actor had a great time working with Menzel in the past that he wanted to show her his appreciation. Having his wife, Kelly Preston, and daughter, Ella, at the academy awards with him sure helped the actor to be in his best mood, too.
In a subsequent appearance on the "Jimmy Kimmel Special After Oscars Show," Travolta revealed playfully that he accidentally referred to Menzel as "Adele Dazeem" backstage at the ceremony. The actor jokingly said he became starstruck with Idina behind the stage at the Oscars 2015.
Meanwhile, Menzel did show her gratitude to her colleague's gesture. People reported that the actress tweeted via social media her delight for being present at this year's Oscars. She deemed Travolta's gesture as fun and flattering.
The 2015 Oscars host Neil Patrick Harris also jokingly predicted Travolta will be apologizing to Idina for the incident on next year's academy awards.
Harris did his part in highlighting the Travolta-Menzel encounter. He was able to spread a light hearted mood all over as the ceremony ended, thanks to the unexpected face touching by the two celebrities.
