Five years after his death, Apple co-founder Steve Jobs continues to fascinate the world. In 2015, two major movies about him were shown and an opera produced.
For those who want to have memorabilia of Jobs’ personal items, including his famous turtlenecks, his whole wardrobe is for auction, including shirts, bowties, watches, ID badges and more, reported Engadget. The items belong to the estate of actress Jane Fonda who is disposing it through Julien Live, the auction house to the stars.
Bidding for Jobs’ NeXT-branded turtleneck begins at $500, but it has gone up to $800. Like Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg who wears a grey T-shirt every day, Jobs, when he was alive, always wore a black turtleneck daily to work. People explained that the Apple co-founder liked those turtlenecks because it is universally flattering, matched every wash of denim and removed the burden of deciding what to wear to work when he has other more important things to do.
Other than Jobs’ turtlenecks, the collection also offers distressed Levi’s, Versace slacks with matching neckties (begins at $300) and a leather jacket ($4,000 starting bid). There are also his bathrobe and electric razor set.
Although Jobs wore black turtlenecks, he also owned and wore t-shirts, five of which are being auctioned. The t-shirts date back to 1965 which Jobs wore at the founding of the Computer Science Department of Stanford University, while the newest is what he wore the 1989 launch of NeXT computers.
