"Bones" Season 12, the final season of the longest-running Fox's TV series will see the return of Eddie McClintock, who plays FBI agent Tim "Sully" Sullivan and ex of Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan played by Emily Deschanel. The actor himself just recently confirmed the news.
On Sept. 3, Saturday, McClintock revealed that he is reprising his role in "Bones" Season 12 on Twitter. He had earlier appeared in the crime series in Season 2 for four episodes. During his stint, Sully began dating the forensic anthropologist Brennan while Booth (David Boreanaz) was away for his trip to the shrink, TV Line reported.

During Season 2, Sully became emotionally attached to Brennan too early after he lost his FBI partner. After coming out of depression, he was more passionate to live life to the fullest. He only wants Brennan, and so he did not have second thoughts of falling in love with her.
However, Sully's return to "Bones" Season 12 may cause some friction between Brennan and his husband Booth. The two are now happily married with two children. Sully was last seen receiving a big no from Brennan after he offered her to sail in the Caribbean and naming the ship after her.
"Bones" is approaching its final 12-episode run and when it reaches that period, the show would have completed its 246 original episodes. Showrunners Jonathan Collier and Michael Peterson earlier shared that they are ready to make the best ending for the fans. They are also the ones who crafted the Season 11 finale which was focused on Brennan's encounter with a serial killer known as The Puppeteer.
"We can give the show, characters and fans the end they so richly deserve," Collider quoted Collier and Peterson as saying in a joint statement. "Also knowing there is a Season 12, we can now write the most rewarding Season 11 finale possible.
