Bad news for fans as "Limitless" Season 2 seems to be far off for now as showrunner Craig Sweeney himself posted on Twitter that the show remains cancelled and there is no renewal yet.

Fans were surprised to know that CBS dropped Limitless even after having a good run on its Season 1. The reason was reportedly because of the low ratings following the premiere or pilot of the show.

Limitless continues after the film of the same name in 2011 and it also features Bradley Cooper but not as a main character or a protagonist. The TV show follows the story of Brian, played by Jack McDorman, who also uses the NZT drug to get by in his life.

Just like many TV tropes, Limitless puts Brian and a cop to work together. Rebecca Harris, played by Dexter's Jennifer Carpenter, is tasked to team up with Brian to solve cases together while the latter is high on NZT.

Limitless Season 2 still seems possible but Sweeney said that there are no talks with any network executives yet, Gamenguide has learned. The air date is still a mystery as the crew and cast are not yet moving to shoot any episode.

Another possible reason for the Limitless cancellation is because of Bradley Cooper's busy schedule for shooting. The actor plays a huge role in the TV show as the same person in the 2011 film but with a different agenda.

Bradley Cooper is currently directing and starring in the "A Star is Born" remake with Lady Gaga, Movie News Guide reported. Cooper has no comment yet regarding Limitless Season 2 but he should return as Senator Morra if the show does air considering that his character plays a key role in all of the TV show's plot.

Loyal fans and followers of the show will have to wait for official announcements regarding Limitless Season 2 updates and news. The Netflix deal did not seem to push through and there are no TV networks ready to buy the second season of the NZT-fueled show possibly airing this 2017 if it does get picked up.
