Infinity Ward discussed how they were able to design "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" Zombies in Spaceland co-op mode. The game mode also looks good with its theme of the '80s era.

The game developers had three years instead of the usual two years to make the latest first person shooter video game. They also added a new Zombies co-op mode to it, which gave them some advantages and disadvantages.

Infinity Ward senior producer Lee Ross told Venture Beat in an interview that the co-op mode is a trip back in time. The game will take place in a space-themed theme park from the 1980s. He also said that the characters that the players will portray are common '80s movie stereotypes like the jock.

Ross also revealed that this game mode will not have any connection to the main game. It will share the different weapons and equipment with the campaign and multiplayer modes, but this co-op mode will have its own style. Players will have a completely different experience compared to the other regular modes.

Creating the mode and mixing the themes was a great challenge for the game developers, explained Ross. It was a rewarding experience for them since they were able to create a mode that is completely different from the main game. He also said that the real challenge for them was to create an authentic experience to that time period.

The senior producer revealed that the map of the game will be massive and fully interactive. It will also have a lot of weapons and great music tracks for players to enjoy.

Ross said that Zombies in Spaceland is not to be taken seriously, but to have fun. This inspired them to make their own weapons and their own set of traps, which do not belong to any other game mode.

There were some new features introduced by the game developers too. One of them was the Afterlife Arcade, which is somewhat a mini-game in this mode.

Ross said that when players die in a round, they are transported to the '80s themed Arcade. They have to score points with different games in the arcade like classic Activision 2600 games and basketball shooting. If they score high enough, they can earn their way back into the game before the round ends.

Ross said that players will have a challenging experience in this game. They will have to work all their way to the top if they want to make it to the very end. For those who want to bring the difficulty down, they have given them a lot of things at their disposal.

Players will get fate and fortune cards, and they can unlock them through natural progression. As they progress through the game, they will get more cards that give them unique abilities. This will make the game easier for them.

Writer Kallie Plagge wrote on IGN of her experience when the game was showcased recently. So far, the '80s horror-movie feel works for the game. They played a 20-minute round and they thought it was pretty easy.

The demo that they tried out had great humor and it had the theme of an amusement park. They were happy with the game, but they want to see actual progression and more intense combat next.
