It seems that the widely reported news of the “Murder, She Wrote” actress Angela Lansbury, joining the “Game of Thrones” Season 7 cast, was nothing but just another rumor, created by a German tabloid.

All the hype that the five-time Tony Award-winning actress has signed to appear in a minor role in the upcoming season was squashed by the actress’ team, in their response to Entertainment Weekly.

“This is not accurate,” Lansbury’s representatives noted to Entertainment Weekly, on Wednesday.

The initial source of the said rumor was a German tabloid newspaper - Bild, which was later translated and re-reported by numerous other news outlets. Bild reported that Lansbury would be filming a cameo role for just four days and will appear in just two episodes in “Game of Thrones” Season 7.

“Perhaps Angela Lansbury makes in ‘Game of Thrones’ then murder again fun,” read the Bild scoop, which is now certainly a rumor.

Nevertheless, the idea of the Honorary Oscar winner joining the show seemed quite credible to many, especially with a number of fan theories related to Lansbury’s role in the show.

As of now, the Oscar Winner who has signed in to join the cast of “Game of Thrones” Season 7 is Jim Broadbent. It is also confirmed that the actor will be playing a “significant” role in the currently-filming seven-episode season. “The Bridget Jones” actor’s character in the show remains to be a mystery.

In other news, more and more “Game of Thrones” cast members are arriving at Belfast, with Kit Harrington being the latest to join the list. The leading actor was spotted at the George Best Belfast City airport, as reported by Watchers on the Wall.

Since last week, reports have surfaced about sightings of the cast members including Lena Headey, Conleth Hill, Aidan Gillen, Ellie Kendrick, John Bradley, Hafþór Björnsson and even Peter Dinklage. It was also reported that HBO has started the production preparations in Spain by putting out notices to hire local crews in the Trujillo and Malpartida of the Cáceres province and the Basque Country towns of Bermeo and Zumaia, which are the confirmed filming locations for the “Game of Thrones” Season 7.
