"Game of Thrones" Season 7 will be surely a star-studded one. Recent reports stated that "Murder, She Wrote" star Angela Lansbury is in talks to star in a cameo role in the upcoming penultimate series of the hit HBO series.

The 90-year-old actress has been approached to appear in two episodes when the show returns for its seventh season next year, Bild reported. If the talks are finalized, she will be second veteran artist to join the ever expanding cast of the hit fantasy series.

Apart from "Murder, She Wrote," Lansbury is also popular for her on-screen roles in "Beauty And The Beast," "Mame," "The Manchurian Candidate," and "Gaslight." She had received an honorary Oscar along with six Golden Globes and an Olivier Award. She also recently starred opposite James Earl Jones in an Australian tour of "Driving Miss Daisy."

The news came a couple of days after it was announced by Entertainment Weekly that Jim Broadbent will be seen in the upcoming season of the series. The 67-year-old veteran actor is confirmed to be playing a significant role in the HBO show, although exact details about his character have been kept under wraps.

Although Braodbent's role is deemed as significant, not much is known about the cameo role being offered to Lansbury. Earlier, both Ian McShane and Richard E Grant had made brief cameos in season 6.

It was reported earlier that filming for "Game of Thrones" Season 7 has already begun in Northern Ireland. Apart from recurring locations, the shooting is scheduled to take place in some new places, including Iceland and Spain, this time.

"Game of Thrones" Season 7 is expected to begin in the summer of 2017, in contrast to its usual spring debut. The series will consist of just seven episodes instead of the show's usual ten.

Although most the show's cast have been keeping mum about the upcoming show, Maisie Williams, the actress who plays Arya Stark, has been updating fans on the series' progress. The actress recently took to Twitter to warn the viewers that nothing can prepare them for Season 7.
