The MacBook Pro 2016 is no show when Apple unveiled the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus this week, debunking rumors the laptop will be introduced with the iOS 10 flagship devices. However, MacOS Sierra is confirmed to deploy September 20 and an OLED touch bar trademark has been discovered, thus raising hopes that release date is happening soon.

BGR reported on the latest finds of known trademark hunter Brian Conroy that mostly were pointing to the upcoming feature upgrades packed with the iOS 10-powered 2016 iPhones. But two feature trademarks that Conroy said Apple exclusively owns might be of interest to MacBook Pro fans. The batch of trademarks unearthed includes Touch Bar and Control Strip functionalities.

And if one has been following the MacBook Pro 2016 speculations lately, it will be assumed that the two trademark features are connected to the rumored OLED functions keys that will be part of the laptop refresh. Renders and leaked codes on the said MacBook feature upgrade have been aplenty that Apple fans are expecting that the bump has been written in stone.

Now this new sign only cemented that already firm belief and at the same pointed to the possibility of a MacBook Pro 2016 unboxing happening real soon.

But there is another indicator that perhaps will prove a bit stronger. Apple has confirmed that MacOS Sierra will start rolling out September 20 and true enough the Gold Master or GM version of the operating system is already out. GM is basically the final cut of the software so there is no turning back, the new Macs will come out soon.

It might be that the old Macs will get a taste first of MacOS but eventually the upgraded hardware will need to be unpacked to best showcase the fresh features included with the redesigned OS. The rumored smart feature Siri for Mac, for instance, is likely more optimal with the MacBook Pro and Air 2016 plus the more powerful Mac desktops.

Apple has skipped introducing the new MacBooks with the iPhone likely for the former to get the spotlight in a separate occasion and rumors say it's going to be low-key news briefing that is scheduled anytime in October. Then the MacBook Pro 2016 debut will likely take place in November, that is if the power under the hood is Intel Skylake.

But if it turns out that Apple is holding out for Kaby Lake, which CNET said will not be ready until early 2017, then the waiting time for the MacBook Pro 2016 will surely extend a bit more.
