Apple claims that the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are the best smartphones ever with a more powerful and faster engine thanks to A10 Fusion chip, a larger battery that will extend the device's operating hours and water resistant feature that provides decent protection against liquid and dust intrusions. But the next iPhone feature and specs bumps are nothing new, according to Android fans.

There are in fact Android flagship phones already rocking the fresh feature upgrades packed with the 2016 iPhones but were actually introduced a few years back. Some are listed below:

Water and dust resistance

Sony's Xperia flagship is widely regarded as the first mobile devices with water and dust resistant features but it is Samsung that really popularized the protection function, first with the Galaxy S5 and now with the Galaxy S7, S7 Edge and the recently recalled Galaxy Note 7.

What's remarkable about the water and dust resistant rendering on the Galaxy flagships is the fact that the feature was implemented without compromising on the aesthetics and functionalities of the mobile devices.

Powerful and superfast processors with generous RAM

Most of the Android flagships so far unboxed this 2016 are monster devices, fired up by Snapdragon 820 processor and RAM provisions of 4GB or 6GB RAM, that can match up anytime of the day with the supposed beastly capabilities of A10 Fusion chip. Both SD 820 and A10 are said to be capable of gaming that is near console level.

Humongous battery

Apple bumped up the battery juice that came with the two new iPhones but everyone knows that the upgrade fell short when pitted against Samsung's latest Galaxy flagship offerings. And more so when the battle is up against other Android-based smartphones that boast of monster energy juicer.

Breakneck mobile internet speed

Apple said its new iPhones are with LTE Cat 9 capability, which for end-users translates to mobile internet speed of up to 450Mbps. First in the industry? Not exactly as Greenbot said in a report that two years ago, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 had already showcased the same wireless broadband speed.

And as Apple is highlighting how fast the iPhone 7 as a mobile internet device is, upcoming Android devices will include LTE Cat 12 that will surely leave the iOS devices eating smoke, the report added.

32GB basic storage

Apple finally increased the iPhone basic storage to 32GB and dumped the hated 16GB edition. However, Android flagships have been coming out with the same on-board memory or more like the Galaxy Note 7 and OnePlus 3 with the added bonus of memory expansion that supports 256GB of microSD card.

Dual-camera setting

The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus sporting dual camera is nothing short of impressive. But as noted by Greenbot, the same shooting prowess was first seen with the HTC One M8, and the device debuted back in 2014. And more followed - Huawei P9 and LG G5 among them - even before Apple planned the same for its flagship phones. In the end, whatever fresh shooting capabilities jammed with the new iPhone cameras can also be found on most high-end Android handsets, solid proofs that the platform is steps ahead of iOS.
