Winless squad US Citta di Palermo (0-1-1, 1 point) will try to gain their first win of the 2016-2017 Serie A season as they face last season's runner-up team SSC Napoli (1-0-1, 4 points) on Sep. 10, Saturday at their home field of Stadio Renzo Barbera.

Palermo opened their season with a 0-1 home loss to Sassuolo but bounced back in their last game with a 1-1 draw versus perennial powerhouse Inter Milan on the road at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in San Siro on Aug. 28, as per Yahoo Sports.

The Rosanero actually started the scoring in the match with a left-footed shot from defender Andrea Rispoli from outside the box, breaking the deadlock three minutes after the restart.

Inter was not giving up in front of their home crowd, though, as Argentine striker Mauro Icardi netted his first goal of the season for the hosts to equalize the match at the 72nd, forcing a tie that shared a point each for both clubs in the overall standings.

With that, new head coach Roberto De Zerbi's squad is now at the bottom half of the 20-team Italian top flight table, tied on points with Inter and newcomer Cagliari all having a point each.

Meanwhile, Napoli is doing well with life after the transfer of top goalscorer Gonzalo Higuaín to arch-rival Juventus.

Higuaín was the leading scorer of the Serie A last season with 36 goals in 35 domestic matches, but he chose to move to the Old Lady last July for a staggering fee of €90 million to become one of the most expensive football transfers in history.

Gli Azzurri began their term with a shaky 2-2 tie against newly-promoted side Pescara before finding their form in a high-scoring 4-2 victory over a nine-man AC Milan squad, SB Nation reported.

Newly-acquired striker Arkadiusz Milik and resident winger Jose Callejon scored a brace each to complete the four-goal haul of head coach Maurizio Sarri's team.
